Introduction
Frontend Designer is a blog about design and development
It's dedicated to my work as a developer at a branding agency in Aalborg, Denmark.
I mainly develop websites using Dynamicweb or Umbraco as CMS platform. I actually believe that the CMS isn't of that much importance - most of the great ones can do exactly the same. The important part is how you develop for theese systems.
My preferred setup is Vue 3 with Vite and moving towards a Headless setup. This way I get more independent of the systems behind - they're just a container for the content.
Post focus
I love using and testing new features as they arrive in the browsers. That's why I'll primarily be focusing on this in my posts. Sometimes it'll be small examples of how to use e.g. new CSS features. It'll be very concrete examples of how the features can be used in the everyday life as a developer.
A second focus will be to dig a little bit deeper into certain parts of web development. It could be on how to increase performance, accessibility etc. These will be longer reads as I there's much more to this, than just simple CSS or JavaScript / Vue.
Upcoming posts
I've already planned some subjects that I'll probably be looking into. I've already worked with some of them - and others I've had nothing to do with so far. Some of the things I'll be digging into is:
The CSS :has pseudo selector.
The :placeholder-shown CSS selector.
Lighthouse report and how to fix issues.
CSS container queries and container units.
Got ideas or feedback?
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Say hi at [email protected] and let me know if there's something you'd like me to dig into - or if you have better suggestions for solving issues I've been posting about.
Enjoy reading!
